The short version
House Roof Painters is an independent roof painting service covering the wider Auckland region. Corrugated iron, Colorsteel, pressed metal tile and concrete tile roofs, from a straight repaint to a full restoration with repairs. Tell us about your roof, and we'll arrange for a roof painter who covers your suburb to come out, look at it and give you a written estimate. Asking costs nothing, and you decide whether to go ahead.
Why preparation comes first
Most roof paint that fails early fails because of what happened before the paint went on. Moss and lichen left alive under the coating. Rust painted over instead of treated. A tile roof sealed before it had dried. The paint itself is rarely the problem.
So the job starts with the roof, not the colour chart: the condition of the iron or tiles, any rust, cracked tiles or loose ridges, and what the roof needs before it is coated. Sometimes the honest answer is repairs first, or a different system altogether.
What you can expect
- Someone looks at the roof before it is priced
- A written quote that lists the preparation, repairs, products, number of coats and GST
- A paint system made for your roof type, such as the ones Resene publishes for iron and tile
- Edge protection or scaffolding where the work needs it
- A straight answer about what a repaint will and won't fix
What we won't do
- Pressure you to book
- Paint over a leak and call it fixed
- Suggest water blasting an older roof before it has been checked for asbestos
Working safely
Roof work in New Zealand is high-risk work. WorkSafe New Zealand expects edge protection on roofs, even on single-storey houses, and older roofs should be checked for asbestos before any water blasting. Those rules shape how every roof is quoted and done.
Where we work
The wider Auckland region: the central suburbs, the North Shore, East Auckland, West Auckland and South Auckland out to Papakura. There is no walk-in office. The painter comes to you.
Common questions
Who paints my roof?
The roof painter who covers your area quotes the job, does the work and is responsible for it. Some painters pay House Roof Painters for the enquiries we send them, which is how asking for a quote stays free for you. Before you agree to anything, get the quote in writing and ask about insurance and references.
Does a quote cost anything?
No. Asking for a quote is free, and you decide whether to go ahead. The painter will usually want to see the roof, or at least clear photos, before giving you a firm price, because rust, moss and repairs change what the job involves and what it costs.
Do you have an office I can visit?
No. House Roof Painters is a mobile service, so the painter comes to your home to look at the roof and quote. Everything else is arranged by email or over the phone, whichever suits you best once you have sent the form.
How do I contact you?
Email [email protected] with any question about a quote or about your details. House Roof Painters is operated by House Roof Painters. You can also ask us at any time to see or delete the details you sent through the form.
